Both had the 3.9 V-6, 1 auto, 1 5 speed. Both regular cad 2 wheel drive. Both were very dependable. But they did not even come close to what I drive now. 2010 F150 FX4 with the Triton V-8 (5.4). Full size 4 door 4 wheel drive. Rides great for a truck. It is very quiet inside for a truck, and it gets better mileage then both Dakotas did!

I can't haul 8ft 2x4s in my car but I can in the box of my truck. Having a truck is a must unless you don't mind spendin the extra money to hire someone for everything. I constantly use the box and haul heavy loads on a fifth wheel and apparently we can't wash are trucks once in a while or Mermaan will criticize the size of are gentles.

Most fun "truck" was an '83 Dodge Rampage. Worst was a '98 Mazda B3000. Flimsiest was a '92 Chev 1500.
