Waiting for a mid-full size turbo-diesel hybrid like this that is capable of 65 US mpg.

I have both gas and diesel. Use the gas for the wife and I drive the diesel.

For me it is gas. Electric is not a option for me because I have no where to park indoors and cannot charge the car.
Diesel cars are better for people who do a lot of driving and driving that is more highway than city. That is not me either.

Diesel for hauling and long distance. Gas is still my choice for horse power on the weekend.

I'd prefer a diesel-electric that ran for about three billion miles like locomotives do.

I'd like to go diesel for my next car. The payback period is long (about 8 years) to recoup the initial cost difference in fuel savings, but doubling the total miles the engine will go tips the scale for me. I keep my vehicles for the long haul. Plus if I want better mileage than I'm getting now on my Metro, I have to go diesel.

diesel is more efficient, basic thermodynamics. and I LOVE diesel but the crazy diesel prices these days. its a byproduct of making gas. why is it 0.40/gal more???

Diesel, without a doubt. Cost of maintenance is no different than a gas engine, fuel economy is fantastic and they go upwards of 400-500k miles.

I'll take gas over the others and diesel over electric because it goes farther before needing a refuel than an electric car could dream of going before needing a recharge.

I drive Gasoline vehicles. They are the best for the miles I drive each year. Payback on the cost of Diesel and Battery Cars makes them too expensive.

I like my diesel truck. Gas is the predominant fuel used in passanger vehicles, but I would go diesel. I have no interest at all in electric.
