We just purchased the Dirty Dancing "Ultimate DVD" originally released in 1987 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sound track was remastered to Dolby Digital 5.1 EX that, on my system plays as 7.1 sound [three front speakers, two side and two rear surround speakers, plus the subwoofer].

And the bonus tracks, which include outtakes and interviews with some of the actors is very interesting. The UPC on the new package is "0 12236 14699 5".

Being a musician, it bugged me that they strayed from music of the period. I'm sorry but "The Time of My Life" is not vintage 60's nor was it written in the 60s style.

Dirty Dancing is an all time favorite of mine.I've replaced my VHS copy for a DVD(talking about oldtimers)and still cry at the end.One of the few movies I have purchased twice.

I'm delighted. You see, I worked in the Catskills the Summer of 1960, and the Patrick Swayze character was loosely based on me. Now, about those royalties...
